Jawalakhel
Jāwalākhel is a city located in Lalitpur District of Nepal. It is around 10 km from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Jawalakhel is the central place for the Lalitpur, which was one of the three great cities of Kathmandu that consist of Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
Majority of the people here are Hindus and consist of Newars which are indigenous tribes of nepal. It boasts the central zoo located in Kathmandu locally called "Sadar Chidiya Khana" established in 1956. Other major establishments are ST. Xaviers school established on 1951.
